HOUSTON, July 19 – Bowleven PLC said early indications are that the IE-3 appraisal well off Cameroon encountered multiple hydrocarbon-bearing reservoirs with gas-condensate and light oil. TD is 3,048 m.
The well’s objective was to appraise the extent and communication of the Upper Isongo reservoir updip of the previous wells drilled in IE field and to target deeper Isongo reservoirs.
Early indications are of gas-condensate in the Upper Isongo sand objective in communication with and extending structurally updip of the highest known gas in the IE-2z well. In addition, logging and sampling of the deeper prognosed secondary objectives have identified further potentially significant multiple stacked reservoirs containing light oil and gas-condensate pay, Bowleven said.
Further detailed analysis, including test data, is now required to fully evaluate the impact for the company’s reserves base and to reduce the remaining risks around the development of IE field. The company is to conduct as many as four drillstem tests.
