HOUSTON, July 21 – A group led by Vegas Oil & Gas SA, Athens, has hiked production from the Northwest Gemsa concession in Egypt’s Gulf of Suez to 9,500 b/d with completion of the Al Amir SE-6 well. Cumulative production is nearly 2.8 million bbl.
Al Amir SE-6 flowed 4,630 b/d of oil and 3.9 MMscfd of gas on a 48/64-in. choke from Kareem Shagar perforations at 9,805-35 ft. It is on production at 1,100 b/d.
Al Ola X-1, an exploratory well outside the southern boundary of the Al Amir SE Development Lease intended to capture a southern extension of Al Amir SE field, is drilling at 1,540 ft.
Participants in NW Gemsa are Vegas Oil 50%, Circle Oil PLC 40%, and Sea Dragon Energy Inc., Calgary, 10%.
