HOUSTON, Aug. 13 – Caza Oil & Gas Inc., Houston, said the O.B. Ranch well on the Bongo prospect in Wharton County, Tex., went to a TD of 16,280 ft and cut more than 100 ft of net potential gas-condensate pay in Cook Mountain sandstone at 12,400-900 ft, where it will attempt completion.
Seismic data indicate several possible development locations. Log and seismic data indicate the well penetrated the margins of a Yegua anomaly at 10,200 ft that may hold further potential.
The well also encountered multiple Wilcox sands at 13,930-16,280 ft. Well log analysis confirms the sand to be gas bearing but also indicates extremely low permeability throughout the penetrated section and is likely noncommercial.
Lead times for fracturing equipment may be as long as 60 days.
