HOUSTON, Aug. 24 – Cairn Energy India Pty. Ltd. reported what appears to be a marginal oil and gas discovery on a land block in India’s Krishna-Godavari basin.
The Nagayalanka-1z well in the KG-ONN-2003/1 block cut 200 m of tight sandstones with low porosity.
A cased-hole drillstem test at 4,147.5-4,216.6 m yielded no flow to surface, while another such test at 4,055-71 m flowed 75 b/d of oil and 270 Mcfd of gas.
Cairn Energy India is operator with 49%, and Oil & Natural Gas Corp. has 51%.
