HOUSTON, Dec. 8
– A security warning that has prevented drilling on the 17.3-million-acre Tenere block in Niger for 2 years has been lifted, said TG World Energy Corp., Calgary.

CNPC International (Tenere) Ltd., a unit of China National Petroleum Co., is operator of the Tenere block. TG World is to be carried for a third well in the block.

When security warning was imposed in November 2007, the partners had intended to drill Facai-1 to 3,700 m to test a new Cretaceous play. The proposed well location is in the northeastern Tenere rift basin 100 km north of the two 2007 wells drilled on the block.

TG World is awaiting word from CNPCIT as to when and where the next well will be drilled.
