HOUSTON, Sept. 25 – Talisman Energy Inc. will spud a horizontal well to Ordovician middle Utica shale in Quebec’s St. Lawrence Lowlands within the week, said Questerre Energy Corp., Calgary.
The St. Edouard-1A horizontal well will be next to the St. Edouard-1 vertical well that tested at 700 Mcfd from the middle Utica interval. If the horizontal well is fracture stimulated and production tested, the vertical well will serve as a monitor for real-time microseismic imaging to validate stimulation effectiveness.
