HOUSTON, May 12
– TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Co. began a second season of multiclient 3D seismic acquisition in Moray Firth off the UK.

The MF11 survey will add more than 2,500 sq km to the contractor’s previous project announced in June 2010.

The survey area covers open and licensed acreage north and east of the previous project, including coverage of the Halibut horst trend and acreage around Kildare and Buchan fields. Upon completion of this newest 3D multiclient project, TGS will have a total of 4,700 sq km of contiguous data in the area.

Data collection is to be complete by the end of the third quarter of 2011. Data processing will be performed by TGS and will include time processing and depth imaging deliverables. Data are to be available from the second quarter of 2012.
