Weatherford International Inc., Houston, has closed a private placement of $350 million in 6 5/8% senior notes due 2011. The net proceeds will be used to pay debt and for general corporate purposes.

GEOCAN Energy Inc., Calgary, has reduced the price of a private placement with Research Capital Corp. to $2.25 (Can.)/unit from $2.50.

Aker Maritime AS has increased its shareholding in Kværner ASA to 20.15% from 17.9%.

Ocean Rig ASA plans to increase a private placement of shares to 352 million-440 million kroner from the previously proposed 352 million.
