DOE TO START EOR PROGRAM
The U.S. Department of Energy is preparing to launch its program of near and midterm, cost shared, oil recovery, field demonstration projects.
The program is to be carried out under the National Energy Strategy-Advanced Oil Recovery Program.
It will include proved and advanced technologies that will allow top economic oil production from fluvial dominated deltaic reservoirs (OGJ, Dec. 24, 1990, p. 17).
DOE plans to issue two draft program opportunity notices about Aug. 1. The notices will describe the types of near and midterm projects for which DOE anticipates receiving proposals.
DOE will hold a presolicitation conference at 9 a.m. Aug. 27 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel at Dallas/Fort Worth airport, Irving, Tex., to discuss the two draft program opportunity notices.
The discussion will cover topics relevant to solicitations, including technical, business and management, funding, and cost. DOE also will seek comment and discussion.
Copies of the draft solicitation are available from Keith Miles, U.S. DOE-Pittsburgh Energy Technology Center, P.O. Box 10940 Mail Stop 921-118, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15326.
More information about the conference is available through DOE's project office in Bartlesville, Okla.
