MORE CANADIAN GAS DESTINED FOR EXPORT

Western Gas Marketing Ltd., Calgary, has signed natural gas sales agreements with U.S. buyers worth more than $1.5 billion during 20 years. Both contracts involve Alberta gas for cogeneration projects. Carry Falls Corp., a unit of Long Lake Energy Corp., will pay $1.3 billion for 44 MMcfd during 20 years to fuel a 250,000 kw plant near Kingston, Ont. Deliveries are to begin in November 1994. Western Gas Marketing Ltd., Calgary, has signed natural gas sales agreements with U.S. buyers worth more than $1.5 billion during 20 years.

Both contracts involve Alberta gas for cogeneration projects.

Carry Falls Corp., a unit of Long Lake Energy Corp., will pay $1.3 billion for 44 MMcfd during 20 years to fuel a 250,000 kw plant near Kingston, Ont. Deliveries are to begin in November 1994. The electrical power will be sold to Ontario Hydro.

Hadson Power Partners, Rensselaer, N.Y., will pay $280 million for 18 MMcfd during 15 years. Deliveries are to begin in September 1993.

Power generated by a 79,000 kw plant will be sold to Niagara Mohawk Power Corp., Syracuse, N.Y. Steam will be purchased by a plant operated by BASF Corp., Parsippany, N.J.

Western has a supply pool of 750 producers in Alberta. It is a unit of TransCanada PipeLines Ltd.
