CZECHOSLOVAKIA SEEKING BIDS ON 32 EXPLORATION TRACTS

Czechoslovakia is seeking bids from foreign operators for exploration and production rights on 6,170 sq km in the central part of the country. Bidding will be open during Oct. 1-Dec. 31, with announcement of awards on 32 blocks and partial blocks scheduled for Mar. 13, 1992. Full blocks cover 400 sq km. Operators may bid alone or in groups for any number of blocks. The open acreage trends northeast-southwest for about 215 km with a width of 25-35 km in the Bohemian Massif-West Carpathians

Czechoslovakia is seeking bids from foreign operators for exploration and production rights on 6,170 sq km in the central part of the country.

Bidding will be open during Oct. 1-Dec. 31, with announcement of awards on 32 blocks and partial blocks scheduled for Mar. 13, 1992. Full blocks cover 400 sq km.

Operators may bid alone or in groups for any number of blocks.

The open acreage trends northeast-southwest for about 215 km with a width of 25-35 km in the Bohemian Massif-West Carpathians region.

Government officials will issue contract terms Sept. 16.

They will be available for $100 (U.S.) from the Ministry of Economic Policy and Development of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, or Slovak Geological Office.

A package containing a review of geophysical, geological, and geochemical data, including 934 km of seismic line and 40,000 m of logs from 10 wells can be purchased from Geofyzika Brno, Brno, Czechoslovakia.

Purchase of the geological and geophysical report "Oil and Gas Exploration Opportunities In the West Carpathians and the Underlying European Platform" is a prerequisite for bidding. Price is not disclosed.
