Operators have racked up more Pennsylvanian discoveries on the Las Animas arch in southeastern Colorado.

The most recent new field discoveries produce from Morrow, Marmaton, and Lansing-Kansas City.

Anschutz Corp., Denver, gauged the best flow at the most recent of the discoveries, 13-12 Bledsoe, SW 12-12s-51w, in Cheyenne County about 3 miles northwest of Bledsoe Ranch field.

It flowed 590 b/d of 36.2 gravity oil and 177 Mcfd of gas from Morrow sand at about 5,350 ft.

The discovery is the westernmost in the play since opening of Castle Peak and High Plains fields in 1987.

Three other discoveries in the play have been added to the map by Mull Drilling Co., Wichita, and Amerind Oil Co. Ltd., Midland, Tex.

ANSCHUTZ DISCOVERY

The Anschutz discovery well, 19 miles south of Flagler, opens Speaker field.

It encountered 8 ft of net pay. Average porosity is 22%, and average water saturation is 32%.

Initial pressure in the solution gas drive reservoir was 1,150 psi.

Anschutz estimated original oil in place at 7,673.4 bbl/acre, or 613,872 bbl/80 acres.

The operator's assumption of a 15% primary recovery factor for 80 acre drainage results in primary reserves of 92,080 bbl/80 acre unit, according to Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission filings.

The company owns a 47.5% working interest in the discovery well and has staked location for a southeast offset.

Union Pacific Resources Co., one of the busiest operators in the stateline Morrow play, in late January staked three 6,500 ft Morrow tests in Bledsoe Ranch field, Petroleum Information reports.

MULL, AMERIND WELLS

Mull and Amerind completed discoveries at the other end of the play in Cheyenne and Kiowa counties.

Mull did not disclose a completion rate at 1 Jagee, NE NW 7-18s-44w, Kiowa County. The well is a Marmaton oil discovery 20 miles south of Cheyenne Wells.

Well site is 2 miles northeast of Trooper field and 3 miles northeast of Buscadero field.

The company staked two Mississippian Spergen tests within 2 miles of the discovery earlier in January, Pi reported.

Meanwhile, Mull in early 1990 completed 1 Kriss, SW SE 18-17s-42w, to open Jalapeno field.

Lansing-Kansas City produced 274 bbl of oil and 5,925 bbl of water in 25 days last March and 413 bbl of oil and 6,500 bbl of water in 28 days in April.

Well site is 6 miles southwest of Second Wind field.

Amerind completed 1 Cox, NW SE 34-16s-42w, in Cheyenne County about 18 miles southeast of Cheyenne Wells.

It flowed 1 MMcfd of gas and 24 b/d of water from Stockholm sand (Morrow) perforations at 5,121-26 ft. It is 2 miles southwest of Second Wind field.
