PLANS ADVANCE FOR CHINESE AMMONIA UNIT
Inner Mongolia Chemical Fertiliser Works will use M.W. Kellogg Co.'s reduced energy ammonia synthesis technology in a plant it will build at Huhehot City, Inner Mongolia, China.
Kellogg will provide the technology to Toyo Engineering Corp. and Mitsui & Co., contractors for the 330,000 ton/year, oil based plant. Completion is scheduled for 1996.
It will be among more than a dozen plants in China using the Kellogg ammonia synthesis process introduced to that country 20 years ago. Kellogg said the technology is "significantly advanced" over that installed during the early 1970s.
