Three contracts valued at a total 80 million ($120 million) will give BP Energy Ltd. a role in cogeneration plants planned by British industrial clients.

BP is to develop a 9,000 kw gas turbine plant to supply much of the electrical power and all the steam for a 142 acre confectionery plant owned by Nestle Rowntree at York, U.K.

Plant capital value is estimated at 8 million ($12 million), while the 10 year operation and maintenance contract is valued at 45 million ($67.5 million). The plant is to be completed in January 1995.

A 4,500 kw plant is to be installed for Chartham Papers, near Canterbury, to make its paper mill self-sufficient in power and steam. The 4 million ($6 million) plant will be ready for operations in spring 1994.

BP will operate and maintain the plant under a 20 million ($30 million), 10 year agreement.

China Clay manufacturer ECC International, based at Rocks, Cornwall, was also said to be close to agreeing to a 4 million ($6 million), 3,700 kw plant project to dry more than half its output. BP will design and build the plant, then operate and maintain it under a 10 year agreement.
