One of two 6SHM/1-2 gas compression units to be installed on a floating production, storage, and offloading vessel in the Griffin field, offshore Australia, awaits shipment following testing by Nuovo Pignone. Each unit will run at 890 RPM and 186 bar, driven by a 3,685 hp electric motor.

The units' reduced dimensions make them more suitable for use in restricted space such as that on a floating production vessel. Both units will transfer to shore formerly flared associated gas through a gas pipeline or reinject the gas for pressure maintenance.
