Promise Carriers Inc., Liberia, will own and operate the 258,000-dwt tanker which will be named after it has completed sea trials. At a service speed of 15.35 kt, it will be among the world's fastest tankers, says NKK.

It is 332 m long, 58 m in molded breadth, and 29.5 m in molded depth. The tanker draws 19.17 m of water. It is among five being built by NKK for delivery this year.

NKK says that about 60 new tankers have been scheduled for worldwide production in 1993 to replace tankers 25-30 years old.
