Amerada Hess Ltd. has installed its first platform topsides module for development of Scott oil field in Block 15/21a of the U.K. North Sea.

Amerada Hess is developing the field using two steel platforms-one for utilities and accommodation, the other for production and drilling.

The 8,000 metric ton utilities deck was installed by Heeremac, using the DB102 crane barge. The same vessel installed the 8,800 metric ton utilities jacket in March.

A production platform was installed on the field last year (OGJ, Nov. 9, 1992, p. 30). Drilling and production modules were on barges at Teesside and Invergordon respectively, awaiting tow-out during the week beginning Apr. 19.

Well completion work is under way, with the aim of bringing Scott field on stream in November.

Scott reserves are estimated at 500 million bbl of oil, 40 million bbl of NGL, and 290 bcf of gas. Peak production is expected in 1995 at 180,000 b/d of oil and 80 MMcfd of gas.
