OIL & GAS JOURNAL'S WEBER DEAD AT 82

George H. Weber, retired editor and publisher of Oil & Gas journal, died Aug. 26 in Tulsa. He was 82. Weber graduated with a degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1934 and joined the OGJ staff as a district editor, serving in Louisiana and Texas offices. In 1948 he was named refining editor for OGJ and was based in New York. He was appointed editor of the magazine in 1958 and publisher and vice-president in 1973. He was appointed editor of the magazine in 1958 and publisher and vice-president in 1973.

Weber's honors include the Hanlon Award from the Natural Gas Processors Association and the Crain Award from the American Business Press.

He retired from OGJ in the mid 1970s.
