WORK SCHEDULED ON PLATFORMS OFF VIET NAM
The Russian/Vietnamese combine of Vietsovpetro and state company Petrovietnam has let contracts to Trafalgar House Offshore International, London, for work in Bach Ho field off Viet Nam.
Vietsovpetro hired the contractor to inspect and repair four platforms out of eight in Bach Ho field. The platforms have been reported to be in a poor state of repair (OGJ, Aug. 2, p. 31). Inspection has started and will be complete by yearend. Results will be analyzed before a remedial work program is chosen.
Petrovietnam hired Trafalgar House as management contractor for Bach Ho gas utilization. The contractor said a riser platform and offshore and onshore pipelines will be installed to utilize gas currently flared.
Gas is destined for a power station at Ba Ria. The gas project is scheduled for fast track development, with completion due in mid-1994.
