EQUIPMENT COSTS CONTINUE TO RISE

Gerald L. Farrar Contributing Editor Costs for the five equipment items which make up the Nelson-Farrar miscellaneous-equipment cost index advanced steadily over the 2-year period, 1989-1990. The miscellaneous equipment index average moved from 757.7 to 811.0 in 24 months. Greatest increase among the components making up the equipment average was that of instruments, from 753.4 in January 1989 to 835.3 in December 1990. The least increase was shown by electrical machinery, from 527.7 to 543.6
