Duncan Energy Co., Denver, has found more Mississippian Lodgepole oil production along the south flank of Dickinson field of Stark County.
The 1 Knopik, in 11-139n-97w, flowed at a restricted average rate of 1,600 b/d of oil plus 1 MMcfd of gas from unspecified perforations, Petroleum Information reported. TD is 10,150 ft, and the perforated interval is believed to start at about 9,700 ft.
Duncan shot 3D seismic in this area last year, PI noted.
The Duncan 1 Knopik well is on a farmout from Gresham Resources Inc., Denver, subsidiary of a Canadian independent. Other working interest owners include Meridian Oil Inc., Houston, and Axem Resources Corp., Denver.
Gresham said Duncan reported having placed the well on production at an initial rate of 2,707 b/d of oil and 1.55 MMcfd of gas through a 24/64 in. choke. It said drilling permits have been issued for two more wells on its acreage.
The I Knopik is about 3 miles southwest of four Conoco Inc. Lodgepole oil and gas wells in another part of Dickinson field.
Gresham said it signed four agreements to acquire an additional 4,227 net acres in the area from undisclosed sellers for $194,470 and 105,000 shares of Gresham stock. The acreage is on the same geologic trend as the Conoco and Duncan discoveries.
