FINA Inc., Dallas, plans a big expansion at its La Porte, Tex., petrochemical plant, making it the largest single site polypropylene plant in the world.
The $100 million project, calling for an eighth production line using FINA technology, will boost capacity by 400 million lb/year to a total of 1.4 billion lb/year. Engineering began late last year, with completion slated by late 1995.
The project will jump FINA's total U.S. polymer manufacturing capacity to more than 2.5 billion lb/year of polypropylene, polyethylene, and polystyrene.
