Callon Petroleum Co. said Russell Parker, former president and chief executive officer of EP Energy, is expected to join the company as senior vice-president and chief operating officer in late June. He will succeed Dr. Jeff Balmer who plans to retire upon his successor's appointment, the company said in a release May 18.
Parker holds more than 20 years of operations and strategic leadership positions at public and private energy companies including as chief executive officer of Phoenix Natural Resources and as president of Chief Oil & Gas. He also spent over a decade with Hilcorp Energy Co. (OGJ Online, Oct. 4, 2019).
Dr. Balmer, who joined Callon in 2018, is retiring following a 35-year career in the oil and gas industry (OGJ Online, Nov. 7, 2018).
