Warrego Energy Ltd. has appointed David Biggs as chief executive officer of its Australian operations, effective Aug. 1., reporting to Dennis Donald, group chief executive officer and managing director. Biggs, currently a non-executive director, will remain on the Warrego Board as an executive director.
Biggs has more than 35 years’ experience in the upstream oil and gas sector working for organizations across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, the Middle East, Africa, Indonesia, and the Americas.
Biggs, who previously served as chief executive officer of AWE and Cue Energy, will lead the Perth-based Australian team which is focused on commercializing the company’s 50% interest in West Erregulla gas field, progressing the EPA-0127 permit in Western Australia and pursuing further exploration opportunities.
As a result of Biggs’ appointment, the board will consist of a majority of executive directors. The company is working to address the imbalance.
