Dana Gas signs MOU for potential redevelopment, expansion of Syrian gas fields

Dana Gas PJSC signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Syrian Petroleum Co. (SPC) to explore the potential for redevelopment and expansion of Abu Rabah and other SPC gas fields in central Syria.
Under the terms of the MoU, Dana Gas will conduct a comprehensive technical assessment of the identified fields and propose a development plan aimed at significantly increasing total gas production if the evaluation is successful and both parties reach a final agreement.
Abu Rhabah lies in central-western Syria, about 150 km northeast of Damascus. It is surrounded by the northern fields of Al-Fayd, Saddad, and Qimam. It tectonically belongs to the Dawa Depression unit (the main gas reservoir in the country) and is considered one of the largest gas-producing fields in the country. Geological reserves are 40.5 billion cu m (bcm) and producible reserves are 32.4 bcm.
