Russia has revised its fuel export ban just days after initially introducing restrictions (OGJ Online, Sept. 22). Revisions include lifting restrictions on fuel used for bunkering certain vessels and on diesel with high sulfur content, a Russian governmental document showed.
Furthermore, Russia has removed constraints on fuel exports that had already been approved for shipment by the Russian Railways and Transneft before the initial ban was announced last week.
The indefinite "temporary" export ban on all types of gasoline and high-quality diesel remains in force, as indicated in the document dated Sept. 23. However, analysts anticipate that the ban will be short in duration and will likely be lifted completely once harvest season concludes next month.
