ConocoPhillips forms global gas organization

HOUSTON, May 6 -- ConocoPhillips formed a global natural gas organization as an exploration and production division. The gas organization will be responsible for worldwide natural gas strategy, including LNG projects and receiving terminals as well as gas-to-liquids technology.

Sig Cornelius, currently president of ConocoPhillips US Lower 48, Latin America, and midstream, was named president of the global gas organization.

This company's organizational structure was changed to reflect the importance of its growing natural gas business to its upstream business, ConocoPhillips said.
