HOUSTON, Feb. 21 -- Frontier Oil Corp. has acquired Ethanol Management Co. (EMC) for $3.1 million. EMC's primary assets are a 25,000 b/d products terminal and blending facility near Denver.

Frontier's subsidiary Frontier Refining Inc. operates a 46,000 b/cd refinery in Cheyenne, Wyo., that has been an EMC customer since 1989.

The EMC acquisition ensures Frontier's ability to blend gasoline and ethanol. The company said it also can expand EMC's facility to blend biodiesel and increase the amount of ethanol blended.
