New Frontier expands Slater Dome acreage

New Frontier Energy Inc., Denver, has acquired an additional 1,600 acres in the north Slater Dome area in the Sand Wash basin in northwestern Colorado and plans to drill up to 20 coalbed methane (CBM) wells in the area this summer.

HOUSTON, Apr. 3 -- New Frontier Energy Inc., Denver, has acquired an additional 1,600 acres in the north Slater Dome area in the Sand Wash basin in northwestern Colorado and plans to drill up to 20 coalbed methane (CBM) wells in the area this summer.

The company said it has secured a drilling rig and workover unit.

The land acquisition increases New Frontier's total holdings in Slater Dome field to about 34,600 acres.

Slater Dome is currently producing from Cretaceous Mesaverde coals.
