HOUSTON, Dec. 27 -- TXCO Resources Inc., San Antonio, plans to consider a broad range of strategic alternatives to maximize the value of its San Miguel tar sand holdings in the Maverick basin in South Texas.

The company placed most of its wholly owned tar sand assets into a subsidiary designed to expedite development opportunities, and it recently detailed its exposure to the contingent resource (OGJ Online, Dec. 3, 2007). It retained Scotia Waterous to assist with the opportunity review.
