HOUSTON, June 4 -- Kern River Gas Transmission Co., Salt Lake City, has named Micheal G. Dunn president. He succeeds Kirk T. Morgan, who has retired.

Dunn, a professional engineer, joined Kern River in 1990 as a supervisor-chief inspector for the initial construction of the Kern River pipeline system. During his tenure, Dunn served in several capacities, including district supervisor, senior engineer, and project manager.

In 2003, he served as project director for the company's $1.2 billion expansion project. That same year, he became director of operations and in March 2005 was named Kern River vice-president of operations, information technology, and engineering.

To succeed Dunn, Kern River promoted Operations Director Robert S. Checketts to vice-president, operations, information technology, and engineering. Checketts previously served as operations director, and before that, as director of operations support. He has been with a Kern River predecessor since 1980.
