Ivanhoe names Gasca president, COO

HOUSTON, May 24 -- Joseph Gasca has been appointed president and chief operating officer of Ivanhoe Energy Inc., Bakersfield, Calif.

Prior to his appointment, Gasca was general manager of operations for BG Group, UK, since 2004.

Gasca has 27 years of oil and gas experience, including 22 years with Texaco Inc., where he became vice-president of commercial development.
