PARIS, June 19 -- Gaz de France has formed a 40-60 joint venture with Camfin SPA of Italy.
The venture, valued at €1 billion, will use GDF's two natural gas marketing and distribution affiliates in Italy, Alcagas and Italcogim, and Camfin's natural gas affiliate Camgas SPA.
With more than 800,000 private and corporate customers, the venture will be a main competitor in Italy's newly liberalized gas market.
