Alan F. Chatfield has joined Challenger Minerals Inc., a Houston subsidiary of Global Santa Fe Drilling Co., as international geosciences manager.

HOUSTON, Aug. 1 -- Alan F. Chatfield has joined Challenger Minerals Inc., a Houston subsidiary of Global Santa Fe Drilling Co., as international geosciences manager.

Chatfield's initial emphasis will be African projects as Challenger considers taking interests in offshore projects worldwide. He was geoscience manager with Sovreign Oil & Gas Co., Houston.
