Lukoil plans to acquire Chaparral Resources

OAO Lukoil Overseas Holding Inc. plans to acquire Chaparral Resources Inc., an exploration and development company based in New York with operations in Kazakhstan.

HOUSTON, Mar. 14 -- OAO Lukoil Overseas Holding Inc. plans to acquire Chaparral Resources Inc., an exploration and development company based in New York with operations in Kazakhstan.

The transaction, subject to shareholder and regulatory approval, would be worth $88.6 million. Closing is expected in May.
