Talisman Energy appoints new president, chief executive

Talisman Energy Inc. has appointed Hal Kvisle as the Calgary-based company’s president and chief executive officer. Kvisle succeeds John A. Manzoni, who is stepping down as president and chief executive, effective immediately, after serving with the firm for 5 years.

Kvisle is currently a director of Talisman and also is former president and chief executive officer of TransCanada Corp. He retired from TransCanada in June 2010.

Having 35 years of experience with the oil and gas industry, Kvisle previously was with Fletcher Challenge Energy.

Talisman operates in US, Canada, the North Sea, and southeast Asia.
