Bankers Petroleum appoint vice-president

HOUSTON, Jan. 29 -- Bankers Petroleum Ltd. has appointed Ian McMurtrie vice-president of exploration.

Bankers Petroleum is a Calgary oil and gas exploration and production company focused on unconventional petroleum assets.

McMurtrie was vice-president of exploration for Rally Energy Corp. from July 2004 until January 2008. He also is president of Cawdor Investments Ltd., a private company managing oil and gas royalties and providing technical consulting.

A petroleum geologist, McMurtrie started his exploration career with Texaco Exploration Canada Ltd.
