Cheniere Energy hiring Keith Meyer to direct LNG unit

Cheniere Energy Inc., Houston, announced plans to hire Keith Meyer as vice-president of Cheniere Energy and as president of Cheniere LNG Inc.

HOUSTON, May 20 -- Cheniere Energy Inc., Houston, announced plans to hire Keith Meyer as vice-president of Cheniere Energy and as president of Cheniere LNG Inc.

Meyer is CMS Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Co. vice-president of business development, LNG, and supply. His hire date for Cheniere will become effective following the closing of the sale of CMS Panhandle Cos. to Southern Union Panhandle (OGJ, Jan. 6, 2003, p. 31). CMS is selling its interstate natural gas pipeline unit and its accompanying subsidiaries, including CMS Eastern Pipe Line.

Cheniere LNG own 30% interest in the Freeport LNG Development LP and is developing additional LNG receiving terminals at Sabine Pass, La., and Corpus Christi, Tex.
