Canadian 88 proposes changing name to Esprit Exploration

HOUSTON, Apr. 9 -- Canadian 88 Energy Corp., Calgary, plans to ask shareholders to approve changing the corporate name to Esprit Exploration Ltd.

The board already approved the name change. If the name change is finalized, the company will maintain its existing ticker symbol.

"The new name captures the spirit, energy, and determination of our company," said Stephen Savidant, Canadian 88 president and CEO.
