Total SA names new executives

HOUSTON, July 28 -- Total SA has promoted three executives and announced that Jean-Luc Vermeulen, Total executive vice-president and president, upstream, will retire. The resignation and promotions all are effective Sept. 1.

Michel Bénézit, senior vice-president Africa, exploration and production, was appointed senior vice-president Northern Europe, exploration and production,.

Jean Privey, vice-president gas and power, was appointed senior vice-president Africa, exploration and production.

Yves-Louis Darricarrére was appointed executive vice-president of Total and president, gas and power. He also was named a member of the executive committee. He had been senior vice-president, Northern Europe, exploration and production, and a member of the group management committee.
