HOUSTON, July 17 -- The International Society of Petroleum Engineers appointed Ross Davidson director of operations for a Middle East office, slated to be operational by August. The office will be in Dubai, UAE.

Currently, Davidson directs the SPE's London office. Val Johnston-Jones, SPE's senior exhibitions and conference manager in London, will become that office's director of operations.

Davidson joined SPE in 2001 after previously serving as chief executive for the UK-based Oilfields Systems Ltd.

SPE said it is opening the Middle Eastern office to provide better service for its Middle Eastern members.
