Occidental elects John L. Hurst III executive vice-president

HOUSTON, July 17 -- Occidental Petroleum Corp. announced that its board elected John L. "Jack" Hurst III executive vice-president. Last month, Hurst was appointed president of Occidental Chemical Corp.
He joined OxyChem in 1978 and served as plant manager in Taft, La., before working his way through the senior executive ranks of OxyChem.
