Gary Masada was named president and chief information officer of the Information Technology Co. for ChevronTexaco Corp.

HOUSTON, July 21 -- Gary Masada was president and chief information officer of the Information Technology Co. for ChevronTexaco Corp.

Masada succeeds David M. Clementz, who has retired but will remain on the board.

Since 2001, Clementz has been responsible for providing computing and telecommunications technology services worldwide.

Currently, Masada is president of ChevronTexaco's energy research and technology. He manages technical capabilities in process and equipment technology and process planning.
