American Gas Association elects Robert Best as its 2004 chairman

The American Gas Association has elected Robert W. Best, chairman, president and CEO of Dallas-based Atmos Energy Corp., Dallas, as its 2004 chair.

HOUSTON, Mar. 25 -- The American Gas Association has elected Robert W. Best, chairman, president and CEO of Dallas-based Atmos Energy Corp., Dallas, as its 2004 chair.

He was elected this week during the association's annual executive conference and board meeting near Atlanta.

In addition, AGA elected Laurence Downes, chairman and CEO of New Jersey Resources Corp.,Wall, NJ, as AGA first vice-chairman. Downes currently is chairman of the AGA Government Relations Policy Committee.
