Court-appointed bankruptcy trustee becomes Seven Seas Petroleum CEO

HOUSTON, Aug. 15 -- Ben F. Floyd, a court-appointed bankruptcy trustee, was named CEO of Seven Seas Petroleum Inc., Houston, which emerged from US Chapter 11 bankruptcy Thursday.

On Aug. 4, the US Bankruptcy Court, Southern District, Houston approved a liquidating plan of reorganization. Additional financing is being sought to continue operations.

Floyd is a shareholder of Floyd, Isgur, Rios, and Wahrlich, PC, a Houston-based law firm specializing in commercial litigation, insolvency, and creditors' rights.

Seven Seas Petroleum is an independent oil and gas exploration and production company with interests in Colombia.
