Ridgeway Petroleum appoints vice-president of affiliate unit

John P. Dorrier has been appointed vice-president of Ridgeway Arizona Oil Corp., a unit of Ridgeway Petroleum Corp., Calgary.

HOUSTON, June 10 -- John P. Dorrier has been appointed vice-president of Ridgeway Arizona Oil Corp., a unit of Ridgeway Petroleum Corp., Calgary. Most recently, Dorrier served as chairman and CEO of Houston-based Gulfsands Petroleum Ltd., a company he founded in 1997.

During 1975-97, Dorrier held a series of technical and executive positions with Mobil Corp., Amoco Corp., Anschutz Corp., BHP Petroleum Ltd., and Seven Seas Petroleum Inc.

For BHP, Dorrier served as regional manager, gulf basin, vice-president and general manager, Europe, Africa, and Middle East, and vice-president, exploration, Americas.
