Samson, Noble sign deepwater agreement

Noble Energy Inc. and Samson Offshore Co., Tulsa, have signed an exploration agreement involving 37 deepwater leases in the Gulf of Mexico.

HOUSTON, Dec. 12 -- Noble Energy Inc. and Samson Offshore Co., Tulsa, have signed an exploration agreement involving 37 deepwater leases in the Gulf of Mexico.

Samson will acquire a 25% working interest in the leases, a majority of which are held 100% and operated by Noble Energy, and participate in at least four exploratory wells through the end of 2008. The first of the wells is to be spudded this month.
