Atlas Petroleum International Ltd. remains an investor with an active participating interest in Block P, offshore Equatorial Guinea, the company said in a release Sept. 30.
The company said it has been a partner in the block since before VAALCO's entrance and any claims that it has relinquished any part of its interest are misleading, the company continued.
The company said it is “in constant communication with the government and have never received a letter from the government or GEPetrol that our PSC and interest have been cancelled.”
OGJ has reached out to the company to ask specifically about its interest in the Venus discovery, in which operator VAALCO said it is moving to develop with GEPetrol (OGJ Online, Sept. 26, 2022).
