Conoco Indonesia plans to develop 200 million bbl Belida field in the South China Sea off Indonesia.

Production start-up is slated for late 1992 from the field, said to be one of the two largest discovered in Indonesia in the last 15 years. Peak flow will be 1 00,000 b/d in 1994.

Conoco Indonesia said ft is poised to let the first contract for the $700 million development program.

In a review of prospects for 1991, Conoco Indonesia Pres. E.L. Oshlo said two smaller discoveries-Sembilang and Kerisi-on the Belida block are also expected to be commercial developments.

He said considerable effort will be devoted this year to determine the best method and timing of their development.

Meantime, efforts are continuing to assist the Indonesian government with an agreement to sell gas from the region to Singapore and to advance plans for developing gas reserves in the region.

Conoco Indonesia said that it will drill key wildcats and conduct major seismic programs in the South China Sea and on other blocks that are located in the remote regions of Sulawesi and Irian Jaya.
