OKEA has awarded a contract for development work at the Bestla project in the North Sea.

OKEA ASA has awarded an integrated engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contract to SBL’s OneSubsea joint venture and Subsea7 for development work at the Bestla project in the North Sea.

Bestla field—formerly Brasse—lies 13 km south of Brage field (Brage Unit) in PL740 and is estimated to contain 24 MMboe gross in recoverable reserves (two-thirds oil and one-third gas and natural gas liquids). It was discovered in 2016 and appraised by five wells in 2017-2019.

Development for Brasse consists of a two-well subsea tie-back to the Brage platform, which will serve as the host platform for production, processing, and export. First oil is targeted for fourth-quarter 2026.

SLB OneSubsea will deliver the subsea production system which will include two subsea trees, a two-slot template, an umbilical, and a control system. Subsea7 will install the subsea production system and design and install the flowline systems, spools, and protection measures, including rock installation.
